How not to start a day...

Wake up to 30+ below windchills.
Think really hard about calling in, but don't because you'd rather use your PTO for fun.
Go to the bathroom and discover that the fresh water hose to the toilet (the one that fills the tank after you flush) has frozen. From what you are able to figure out, it didn't break (you would have heard water running if it had, right?), it only froze.
Of course, since you're in a "mobile home" you can't just run downstairs to check. In order to check you have to go outside to the access....which you can't get to because of all the snow that has drifted on top of the access door. OK - you could possible get to it IF you spent several hours in the 30 below windchill shoveling. Of course, that would lead to additional frost bite and/or worse, so you think better of that.
Think really hard again about calling in, but don't because you'd rather use your PTO for fun.
Ponder why it is that you live in the north as you shiver waiting for your car to warm up. (Warm being a relative term when it hasn't been above 0 in days.)
Question your sanity once you get to work and shiver your way across the parking lot.
Why was it that you didn't use a PTO day and stay home?
